Virtual University of Pakistan offers admission twice in an academic year namely spring in the month of January/February and fall in the month of August/September each year.

Candidate must have at least 45% marks in the graduation degree. Candidate holding PGD in Computer & Information Technology, PGD in Business Administration dually issued by the recognized Institute / University are eligible for admission towards MCS Program. Note: Candidates who have not studied any one of the required above-mentioned subjects in their graduation are eligible for MCS admission provided they firstly qualify four courses namely Introduction to Computing, Business Mathematics & Statistics, Calculus and Analytical Geometry and English Comprehension by taking a MCS/MIT Deficiency Semester However, candidates having less than 45% marks will be eligible for admission after successful completion of “Zero Semester”. (Note: Candidates holding bachelor’s degree with less than 45 % marks or 3rd Division but have not studied any of the required subjects Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or Engineering for admission to MCS/MIT are required to qualify the Deficiency Semester as well.) |

The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) ‘O’ levels and School Certificate (SC) examinations are considered equivalent to Matriculation, and the GCE ‘A’ levels is considered equivalent to the Intermediate examination. For the GCSE (‘O’) and SC examinations, grades in 6 subjects are considered. ‘A’ level candidates must have passed 3 subjects and are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad. |

- WHO CAN APPLY FOR ADMISSION? The applicants who are meeting with the prescribed admission eligibility criteria of the study program may apply for admission.
- Admissions will be opened as per the schedule enlisted as above.
- CNIC/B Form number is mandatory for the registration. CNIC mismatching will result in rejection of admission form.
- Admissions will not be processed on the basis of Hope Certificate.
- Uploaded documents in the Registration Interface/system should be clear, complete and readable. (i.e. scanned and uploaded as per given instructions).
- It is the responsibility of the students to make a print of Admission Form and attach 3 sets of the documents (write admission form number on each document). Hard copy of the Admission Form along with requisite documents shall submit/courier direct to the Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Defence Road off Raiwind Road, Lahore.
- The University will process admissions of applicants who will submit Admission Forms along with 03 sets academic documents in HARD COPY at the University till the prescribed date mentioned in the Admission Schedule.
- The candidates intend to apply for course exemption/entry route or need-based scholarships forms are required to fill the respective form(s) which is the part of admission form. Incomplete/unfilled form(s) will not considered for course exemption or need-based scholarships.
- Candidates applying on the basis of having ‘A’ levels or foreign diplomas/degrees are required to provide equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/) and Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- In case candidate is already enrolled at VU and his admission status is regular, he/she is required to cancel the old admission before applying for new admission.
- Zero Semester is not applicable on the following programs: -
- M.Ed.
- M.Sc. Applied Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics & Zoology.
- BS English (Applied Linguistics), Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Zoology & Mathematics
- Diploma in: Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Linguistics & English Language Teaching (ELT)
