Low Calorie

Low Calorie

I have not been able to go on a low calorie diet for the last several months but I am now starting to feel better than ever before. The reasons are being very simple and it starts with eating more greens, drinking plenty of water, walking, getting some sleep, taking my meds, staying active, eating healthy and staying away from fast food. After all these things I have come out positive and healthy and that’s what helps me feel great. I was so sick of myself, I started going down a whole bunch of other things like cutting out caffeine and sugar. It is amazing how you can cut back on so much! I can write reviews of everything I cut so that no one can tell you how I started cutting and how I used different foods and different types of products and ingredients in making this drastic change for better results.

For example, I use almond milk to get lots of nutrition including antioxidants but also because it’s one of the few places you can find high fat dairy butter without a high cholesterol or saturated fat butter! You do need butter if you want your body to absorb it but it really doesn’t hurt. In fact, when I cut out butter and cheese, I lost three pounds! How incredible is that? And I only use 2 tablespoons of butter and cream cheese daily. So there are a ton of other ways to reduce calories and keep your body fit and healthy! One time I ate oatmeal and cut out the oil and butter. Also olive oil and veggies! All the while I did not lose weight because of that! There are so many examples of people that have done this cutting down thing and I am here to help you take the next step to eating healthier and looking good too!

For myself, I started doing yoga, running around and exercising by walking. Yoga helps me shed the unnecessary pounds. That makes me feel great too. Exercise helps you move more effectively and burns off more calories too. Yes! Calories! My favorite part about exercise is that you can even swim laps underwater! Not only does it burn some weight but it also brings up blood pressure which can be controlled by heart medication (for those of you wondering). As someone who has spent years being inactive and overweight I love working out! It is truly wonderful as a way to decrease your chances of death. And that gets me to spend less time watching TV and less time on social media and actually enjoy an activity. So I decided to start walking at home and enjoying it! A lot of times I try to walk too far and then when I get to walk at home I can’t finish but here is where I need to listen to my body. If I don’t know walk too far, why would I expect to run all day long? When I get to walking at home it is always hard because I never know which path will take me the least amount of time to cover.

This week I took my Meds to calm down, my stress levels were rising and anxiety was going through the roof. Working out, Yoga and Meditation are fantastic and effective things to help balance all of a sudden I feel like I have too much energy! Wow! Now, I am not an athlete nor do I swim. Nevertheless, after using Yoga classes and swimming regularly for 16 or 17 days, just like walking, I have gained tremendous strength and power to go farther! Although I am not competitive yet but that’s something for another blog post.

Another important lifestyle tip is to avoid Fast Food. You cannot do it alone but as a family it becomes more difficult. Find places in the world that produce healthy items that can be made with less calories and fewer ingredients. Don’t get your heart set on fries or burgers. Stay within a few hours drive of any restaurant with good quality veggies and meats and make sure they provide healthy options! Try Whole Foods Chicken McNuggets to get healthy chicken nuggets for lunch everyday! Or for dinner try Veggie Grill Salmon Roasted Potatoes and Carrots and Shrimp Crackers! What a wonderful meal! No longer do you have to eat frozen pizza and fries. Have a bowl of soup for dinner, or mix and match vegetables like spinach, carrot, lettuce and sprouts. Some places offer vegetable stock, noodles, soup or juices. Just make sure it is of good quality! Enjoying healthier options is going to take a lifetime! Take care your kids and spouse! They deserve no less!

So while I say cut down on carbs and fats, I know many people feel differently in their approach. But I hope I was helpful. Have a healthier life and keep yourself fit and healthy!
